Last week, I ask Emma a few questions regarding how she study for her ACCA exam. I got her reply today. She is now currently in Professional Level of ACCA. I only ask her 5 simple questions.
1. How do you manage your time so that you’ll have enough time to cover all ACCA syllabus?
Because I’m a student, I could have a lot of free time as I like to review for ACCA. I often went to school library to have a quite place to study. And I regard the evening as my golden time to study, so, I left some complex chapter in evening. In the rest of the day, I just recite some knowledge I learned last evening.
2. How do you prepare yourself to study for ACCA? (Study hard subjects first & study in a quiet place? Read texts actively/slowly, before/after class?)
It’s quite hard for me to remember the textual information. So I copied them several times and read aloud to help myself to memorize them.
3. How do you take notes in class? Any special tips? Take notes in class & rewrite them at home?
I’m good at taking notes because I can write down words very quickly. So, I can write down the most important knowledge and something I didn’t know. After class, by reading these notes, I could remember what the lecturer said in the class and command the knowledge easier.
4. Do you do your homework given by lecturers? Is it important?
Yes. And I think they are important. Because if these are not useful to pass the exam, my lecturers wouldn’t not assign them. So, my suggestion is to do these homework several times and review them frequently.
5. How to accurately estimate how much time you’ll need to spend answering questions in real ACCA exam?
I’m not quite sure for that. I’m quite confident about time control because I’m can write very fast. So I never thought about the time problem before and I’ve never met with such problem in my ACCA exam, either.
